Prayer Breakfast

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC) has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors from Anne Arundel County Public Schools. In that time, over $100,000 has been awarded.

The venue for awarding the scholarships is the Annual Scholarship Prayer Breakfast, an event that has become quite popular and anticipated eagerly each year. The goal of this project is to help college-bound young African American women meet some of the financial demands of obtaining higher education as well as to honor their achievements throughout their high school careers. Additionally, funding is provided in the form of Second Chance Scholarships for adults who are striving to improve their skills and enhance their careers.

A number of private individuals and business have supported this endeavor each year. Their contributions have helped to make it possible for NACAC to assist bright, determined, and focused young women in their quest for college degrees and beyond.

The scholarships that are awarded are the Second Chance Scholarship, and the Dr. Thelma T. Daley Pearl Award. If you want to know how you can support this program, please email at
